Sell with Encore

Your dress had one night. Give it another.

Encore is a Canadian marketplace for preowned wedding, bridesmaid and occasion dresses. You keep the story. Someone else gets the dress. We handle the payment, the courier and the paperwork in between.

What it costs

18%

Encore's commission, taken from the dress price, not from tax or delivery. Card processing is included in it.

$0

What you pay to list, and what you pay for the courier. Delivery is quoted live at checkout and paid by the buyer. Encore buys the prepaid label for you.

24h

How long the buyer has after delivery to confirm the dress. Then the money is released to you automatically.

Sellers are responsible for their own taxes. Read the refunds and fees page for the full picture, including the 10% facilitation fee when a claim is upheld and the dress comes back.

How selling works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your closet

A short application: your name, your city, and what you have to sell. A person at Encore reads every one.

  2. Step 2

    Prove it is you

Government photo identification, a selfie, and proof of address. This is what lets buyers trust a stranger with a wedding dress.

  3. Step 3

    Photograph the dress

Four required angles: front, right, back, left. Take them on your phone in daylight. We clean up the background for you.

  4. Step 4

    Set your price

You decide. The order summary shows what you keep before you publish, so there are no surprises.

  5. Step 5

    Send it

When a buyer pays in full you have 12 hours to hand the dress to the courier. Encore buys the prepaid label, paid for at checkout.

  6. Step 6

    Get paid

The buyer has 24 hours from delivery to confirm. Then the money moves to the bank account you linked.

Money, plainly

Your Encore wallet is a transit ledger, not a bank account and not savings. It shows what is on its way to you. Money moves to your own bank account once your identity is verified and the buyer has confirmed the dress, or 24 hours after the courier records delivery. Encore is not responsible for revenue that is never claimed.
